No doubt that your blog or any other web page must be recognized by search engines for you to attract visitors.
And one of the best (free) ways how to do it is optimize your web pages. It is called SEO - Search Engine Optimization.
Would not it be great to have ready-to-use, SEO optimized, free blogging software? The good news is there is such software.
It is Jeff Johnson’s preconfigured, SEO optimized Wordpress installation with all sorts of plug-ins. This package just works!
I actually use it on my blog and other sites too. You can see some of my statistics in my post about Google Alerts.
This software is “a self-contained custom version of Wordpress with bells and whistles added.” It works with blogs or any other website. You can even apply it to your current blog.
It is optimized using the guidelines Google themselves recommend. You can change the entire look and feel of the website using SEO optimized themes. BTW, did you know Wordpress theme must be also SEO optimized?
You can install it in minutes, there is a very good documentation (including video) included.
You can download you free SEO optimized Wordpress software here (after registration) -

If you need have any questions about it, just let me know, I’ll be glad to help.

Hey Jozef,
Dirk here, again thx for the comment at my blog.
I have the same word press blogging package for a couple months, didn’t quite understand everything about it at the time, now with Alex Jeffreys Mentoring Program, made my blog with better understanding of blogs and forgetting I had the package.
Do you think I could transfer my existing blog with my scheme I have now to the undergrounds WP package with out losing or screwing up anything I\’ve set up?
I\’m utilizing the stable 2.7 version as well and will this stay intact. I believe so, when quickly reading the read me file.
Is this blog here utilizing the underground WP? I guess so, just scrolled down and say secuirty code.
When you get a chance to answer, I\’d greatly appreciate it. Nice job with your blog, decently done, great information, nice tip on Google Alert. I will see if I can implement.
To your success,
Dirk Blanke
Hi Dirk,
finally back from my trip, so I’m ready to work again!
Yes, in general I think you can transfer your blog to Jeff Johnson’s package. But you must be careful. I would recommend:
1. backup your WP installation with WP backup plugin.
2. backup also the whole directory structure of your blog (with FTP client, copy all files to your local drive).
3. Remove all files from your web and copy the new WP package there.
4. Install WP backup plugin and use it to restore your posts.
Couple of notes:
- the above should work, but I didn’t try it
- you must have the same WP version when backup and restore (e.g. 2.7 as you said)
- I had some problems upgrading from 2.5 (the original version in JJ’s package) to 2.7 - I had to manually replace (using FTP) the old 2.5 WP installation with the new 2.7 installation
- I see that you have your blog under /blog directory on your web. If you want to keep it that way, that the above steps should be done in your /blog subdirectory.
Hope this helps. Let me know, if you have questions.
Jozef
